I remember going to my great grandma's and making a b-line for the candy dish. I knew quite well that it won't be the most delicious candy, but I still could not resist. First I go for the ones that are not stuck together. Then I try to find out which ones are minty and avoid them. Christmas time of course would bring the special ribbon candy to the dish. What fun, but beware of the sharp edges when the ribbons have been bit. They can do a number on the roof of your mouth.
